IMG_3431.JPG I'm selling my deceased brother's hoard at the Charlotte Auto Fair. I'm trying to identify this late '40s front end which at first glance is obviously Ford but the upward bends towards the front of the wishbones have me wondering if it might be Lincoln. Someone please educate me. Thanks.

  2. 42-47 Ford car I believe. Kicks in the wishbones are to clear the tie rod.

Seems like '46-'48 Ford had those particular wishbones. Maybe if you were to measure the kingpin distance and perch pin distance someone smarter than myself could help.

Thanks guys. The main reason I was leaning toward Lincoln was because he had put Lincoln brakes on his T/V8 project.

Kinda looks like a 48 ford one to me-maybe from a Mercury-indicated by the extension plate on the pivot ball-Ford used these to utilise ford wishbones in the longer wheel base Mercs I understand-BUT do check on the Lincoln thing as I may be wrong...
I do have an identical unit "in stock" at the moment

    Cheers

Thanks for the correction on the brakes. We were 1500 miles apart working on our projects.
