These unidentified photos just appeared from Donald Healey Motor Company archives in Warwick, England: http://heritage.warwickshire.gov.uk/more-donald-healey-photos-to-identify/ Here's what I think they are. Donald Healey and his son Geoffrey came to the US in 1948 and took a cross-country tour ending in LA with one of their first cars, a Healey Westland, The trip was a fact-finding expedition to see what kind of cars Americans liked and were suited to our roads. At that time, UK manufacturers needed to export their products in order to obtain steel and eventually, almost 90% of Healeys, and later Austin-Healeys came to the US. While in the States, Geoffrey became interested in hot rods and flatheads in particular. He returned to England and built his own version of a rod using a flathead from a Bren Carrier: http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-armour/allied/bren_carrier.htm Geoffrey also helped form the British Hot Rod Association of his return. I suspect the pictures above were taken by Geoff while he was in California during the trip (note the '48 on the tag) Anyone know anything about these cars in particular, the head used on the flatty or where "International Motors" was located?
