I've been in the tear down phase on a 1964 Comet 202 2 door sedan for several months now and it's finally time to start thinking about reassembly. The scenario in my head is of a 17 year old kid who bought a '64 Comet second hand in 1968. How would he modify it? That's what I want to know. What did a mild custom look like in the late 60's? Anybody got any pics?

I grew up in the 60's graduated high school in 66, but I don't believe I ever saw a 64 comet customized. Set up as a drag racer with a tube front axle maybe, but don't remember any mild customs.

Yeah, but everybody builds gassers out of them. Not looking specifically for Comet pics just pics of late 60's style. Something for inspiration.

  5. I agree. Don't gasser it. Go custom. Here are a few pictures of customs/lowriders from the mid to late 60s. A '64 Comet is a fine canvas to start with. DO IT!
