    hello,
what I have at the moment is
a 52/3 8ba with the flywheel with 6 equal drillings
    i have a 10 1/4'' clutch froiction disc ( its 23 splined)
the matching pressure plate for the above.
i have the half bell, a stamped steel version
the stamped steel half bell hits the pressure plate - just at the holes fo rthe hogshead, the spring things tpouch and i cant get the half bell to sit.
    ------
now, this is where its gets spooky......
I once had a different 8ba with the similar flywheel - 6 equal spaced holes
and I am sure I fit a v6 camaro pressure plate to it
and I am certain that the friction disc was 9 5/8th or 241mm
    -------

so the question is,,,,, is the flywheel for the v6 camaro drilled the same so a v8, with a 10''' or 10.5'' clutch ? even though the v6 is 9 5/8ths 241mm

    ---------
or, will i luck out using a 241mm 9 5/8ths camaro pressure plate - it missing the half bell.

    damn

pic of v6 camaro clutch, the pressure plate appears to have a quite wide mounting foot - or if you like more than it should.

so, instead of drilling the flywheel.........................

Stamped steel 1/2 bell will take a 10 inch clutch but not an 11 inch (need a cast iron one from a truck for 11 inch). So I'm guessing that your clutch is although not 11 inches is still too big. That said you either need a smaller diameter clutch or a cast iron 1/2 bell or at least that's how I see it.

damn i have a cast half bell
i though they were the same
the clutch that touched is 10 1/4''
    260mm
the 241mm clutch doesnt fit the drillings

they do a 250mm clutch for 23 splines

for the 45 pounds i will gamble

i dont understand the cast half bell being any different?
as the hogs head i have would be in the same place?

do you mean the cast one piece bell house for the 11'' clutches?
like the full bell for an 8ba, BUT for the big truck transmission

    its annoying
as i first got the 11'' clutch as that i thought you had to igger about with the hogs head
then got another 8ba with the borg and beck 6 equal drillings
the other 8ba has a 9 inch flywheel on it.
then found a 10 1/4 23 splined clutch so though that would work, but its a smidgers too wide.

i think the 250mm ford ranger diesel is the puppy
if it all comes in 5mm per side it will go in, and its 23 splined

    ****
then they say they are 248mm
    [IMG]
ahh 248 is a ford ranger

so, 250mm an 1/8th and a clicj under 10 inches 9 7/8's minus two hairs
its all about the drillings and the physical shape to clear the mounting circle for the hogs headthe rivets in the 10 1/4 touch

whats eben more frustrating is the trans has the earlier cross shaft for lhd model a, i have a 37 version, but its **** backwards for rhd, plus i sold the rhd 37 version in the old 3 speed, grrrrrrr, would have like to have kept the factory rivet through the actuating fork doofer.. ffs.

When I had my '40 Ford big truck with an 8ba it had an 11 inch clutch. The stamped steel 1/2 bell I had would allow the use of the 11 inch clutch. I bought a cast iron 1/2 bell from a truck and solved all my problems.
