I've had a good look round but haven't managed to find an answer, so I'm hoping someone here may know. Is there (or was there ever) an adapter to put a later style Ford flathead V8 trans (49-53) onto an earlier flathead V8 motor? If there is an obvious answer please excuse my ignorance, this question is on behalf of a friend of mine!

    Thanks in advance, Neil.

If I'm not mistaken a current T5 to Flathead adapter would suffice. It was a long time ago but I think I remember 3 out of 4 bolt holes line up. The other thing is to measure the the OD of the trans front bearing retainer, and the ID of the bellhousing hole and compare. Why don't you give a shout to Cornhusker Rod and Custom and see if they can give you the dimensions of their adapter. Don't forget input shaft length issues.

  4. Which "friend" would that be, Neil?
I've counted on all 5 fingers, and it's not me, or you...
As for adaptors, Billy at Namco has some French ones, ask Adrian if he saw them.

Hi Phil, Marco's the friend. The box was a freebie from Adrian so he was hoping for a quick fix to go to open drive for a roadster project he has in mind. So what is this about adapters at Namco? Mail me at home.
Thanks for your input the rest of you guys, I'll p*** the info on.
