I converted an 88 350 from TBI to Carburation. There are several sensors or sending units on the engine that I should not need. I am not sure what all of them are for, there is one behind the starter in the block that is in the way of my headers, there is one above the oil filter, maybe a low oil or change oil soon sensor??? Is it ok to plug these holes? I was going to put the old style oil pressure switch behind the distributor and take out the one that was in the TBI. Does this all sound ok. I appreciate your comments. Thanks

yeah plug the holes, put the oil pressure sender/line up top, should be fine. Might be that the one by the starter is the knock sensor, it threads into the coolant drain hole, just get a pipe plug that size.

the fitting at the top rear of the block is 1/8, but the coolant drain hole and the oil hole over the filter are 1/4 pipe

I have a question for you...what all was involved with the swap to a carb?? did you have to buy an older manifold or aftermarket? What about the dist? I am lookin at a low mileage 87 van w/ 700r4.

  8. Buy the correct manifold another HEI that is not for EFI. Remember if it's a serpentine drive belt the water pump turns backwards. So if you don't use the serpentine you need a normal water pump.

Is there a GM manifold that works or do I have to get an aftermarket one?
