late model tranny for 392 hemi

    Is there any economical way to hang a GM or late torqueflite to a 392? The $350 prices scare me. This swap is common enough there should be something for us poor folks.

    not to be a wise guy,but building a 392 isn't exactly your cheapest option.try finding adaptors for early olds,then you'll appreciate how cheap $350 is for that sort of thing-george
     
  3. I can tell you this. A late 904 T-flite will barely hold up to a stock 318 much less a 392.

    I know a guy that sells adapters to install a torque flite or late model Chrysler automatic overdrive behind an early hemi. He has one in his 33 Desoto with a blown 354 and has others out there that have had no problems. Send me a pm if you want his phone #.

    HA HA HA..trying to be a cheap-*** about a transmission adapter...I guess you got start somewhere! I dont understand why you'd want to run a GM product with it though...

    Poor folks can't afford Hemi parts.
