Brandy, she is very proud of herself, and you are correct that this not just for the ladies.

She will be very happy to see that people like her car.

    thanks everyone.

Man, i am so jealous! and the car kicks ass, too!

Tell us about those trick little panel clamps used during the chop. I know I've seen a post, but that's a great picture of using them.

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that looks great. hell that got me inspired to build one. to think that people say that they need a garage to build a car. she just proved everyone wrong.

how about coming down to the Luau for the Lowdown again with it? it's going to be Sept 24th.

  8. Dave thanks for posting pics of your wife's excellent work. Very nice. The sedan looks great! Have fun at Bonneville.

This has got to be the post of the year or somethin'! A good lookin' chick building a fine machine with just a little help from her hubby. Documentation is outstanding! I hope she drives it to work-I can see the reaction. Redbeard, my hats off to you and your lady;you have every right to be proud of her!

    GRRRRRRREAT thread!!

Im so glad i checked this thread out. Im in the last stages of building my own frame for the first time. Guess Im in good company, most of the things she did are how i did mine, now if i can just squeeze in time to hook up with a plasma cutter and whittle out a few remaining pieces!!

My girl has been brushing up on her welding skills on my project as well. Its way cool to have both a hot rod and girl you can be proud of!

  13. Best post I've seen on here in a LONG time. Great work! Your a lucky man! So did you get the last woman on the planet like her?

This is one of the best threads i've ever read on here.

I dont care that a woman built it, they can do anything, what i think is amazing is that she wanted to and did !!! and didn't know how to weld when she started.

    Thats amazing, congratulations

I don't know what those clamps are called, but they certainly have come in
    handy,
I bought them at harbor freight, but have since seen them at the welding supply stores.

I would also like to thank sleeper on here, as he came through with rams horns exhaust at the last minute to get us to paso.

    see ya tommorrow.

    The clamps are:

8 PC. BUTT WELDING CLAMPS #44751

They are just a few dollars for a pack of 8.

That was a great build, enjoyed the pics, i'm saving this one. Pretty much what i'm wanting to build. I really like the use of the original front frame, but using new boxed steel for the rest. Sweet car!

    Awesome!!

Great post, good info, well written and explained. She did a real nice job on all aspects of that car. You're a real lucky guy!

BTW, look in the tech archives under sheetmetal clamps to see how to make those super cheap, just did it myself!

  23. If I could find a woman like that, I wouldn't be single....She did a fantastic job...Beautiful car! I am truly amazed!

Great job !!!! That inspires me to get off my butt and work on mine today! My wife will help me with anything I need help on including putting the sheetmetal on my shop recently, but I don't think she would want to build her own car , but who knows though? Very cool gal you have there. That car has a great stance and looks real good going down the road in the pics ,very cool , you both should be proud.

Excellent job ! - I'm hoping I can pick up some of those skills as time goes by, I'm getting there slowly with lots of practice and a hell of a learning curve.
