Found these little beauties at a recent flea market..... Miro-Flare Model 20 Emergency Roadside Reflectors manufactured by the Miro-Flex Company. From a Google search, it looks like Miro-Flex is still making reflectors and clearance lights. I've got to search on some of the patent numbers to pinpoint a date....unless one of you HAMBers with a plethora of knowledge just happens to know the vintage of these fine specimens! Anyway, I'm happy with them!
I see reflectors like these pretty regularly at estate sales. Some brands have the set of three packaged in a sheet metal box. Big truck stuff.
I remember back in the early 70's my sister having a set of those in here bug, They were in a red metal box.
I'd guess those and other variations like them were available from the early 50s through the 60s-early 70s, when plastic foldout triangles probably took over in the market place.
Those are cool. I have a couple too and estate sales are your friend. I found SW guages inna box with 2 of those and the lovely little old lady said $5 and maybe I'd like the "Little books" she had too. I did. I gave her $20, just so I could sleep that night.
They feel awful heavy for 70's, but y'all have a better idea than me! Thanks for the input! I wish we had more estate sales around here. 'Bout all we have are cheesy yard sales!
Yes, the "box" would be really cool! And....yes, they're going behind the set in my '46 Chevy PU once it's on the road!
Those are pretty cool. I have something that's just a bit older than those. I have a set of 4, stackable, portable roadside torches. I wouldn't mind finding a set of those reflectors though. Good score in my mind. ******Knuckles
they are heavy, otherwise they would blow over on the hyway, theres a lot of dif ferent styles . yours are a cool shape, most of mine are square .school busses had them also.
Here's a set of the reflectors in the box, marked Anthes. Snapped these up off a guy's $2 tarp at Hershey. Later I found this round red Anthes box for storing a spare headlight and misc. bulbs.
i have a set close to that i got at a swap.. 5 bucks. and the metal box.guy said they were out of a semi truck. and i don't have a clue how to post pics...
