i've been trying to finish this up , just a few things left before it goes for ulhpostery .wheels/tires are just on it for now to hold it up , the owner is still kinda undecided what he wants. got it out today to take to the alignment shop...thought i'd snap a few pictures. yes, it's a "street rod" with mustang II , air , fake olds valve covers , etc
Looks good Greg! Don't you have a black 40 2door with yellow wheels/whitewalls? Hopefully "Streetrod" = "Driver"
Looks good. Question: what is the difference between a panel truck and a sedan delivery? I'm not a complete idiot, some of the time, but I thought a sedan delivery was basically a station wagon with the windows in the back filled in and the panel was a truck made into a delivery truck, no windows on the sides and rear door. Or, did it become hard to distinquish the two during a certain time in history? Either way, this one is going to be nice.
Generally, a sedan delivery is based on a car ch***is and has 1 door on the back that opens. A panel truck is based on a truck ch***is and has 2 rear doors on the back.
Typically a sedan delivery is built on a p***enger car ch***is, and a panel truck is built on a commercial ch***is. With specific reference to '40s, on a delivery the body is unique (maybe continued in '41) with no detail on the body sides behind the door windows, a single rear door, and all the front sheet metal is '40 p***enger car. The panel is a larger, taller body with stamped detail in the area behind the door window, double rear doors, and commercial sheet metal on the front end. Although the '40 p***enger and commercial front clips look similar, they are not the same and do not interchange directly.
