Lead East: 10 Reasons why.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ponchobilly, Aug 31, 2003.

  1. With all the negative waves going on about the show, I was wondering what the hell you guys were looking at? There were more Mercs and shoeboxes and sleds than you could point a camera at. Oh sure... there were some "gook wagons" (not you PTFink) and neon. The dominant genre was classic custom. I'll only post 10. I've got alot more.

  11. Lead East is what YOU make of it. The people are all there to party for the weekend. If you can't have fun there, you're probably disappointed by alot of other things too.

Poncho B. if you have more pictures post them. I'd love to go to lead east. I think the lavender Merc belongs to somebody on here. Thanks TP

  14. TP - you guys from Texas might have seen this before. Tom is from east of Dallas and cannot sit still. I have much respect for the man and his car... he drives the crap out of it. Hell of a nice guy too. He's one of us, he just doesn't know it yet.

I just went for the day, Saturday. Was hanging around the Aztec most of the time.
Actually, it was a bit disappointing. The crummy weather, the amount of cars, and spectators were way down.
It could also have to do with the fact that I didn't bring my car, I didn't stay to party all night, and I have seen all the previous Lead Easts, and am spoiled by the old ones!
But, like you say, it's what you make of it! Glad you had a good time, and sorry I didn't see you there!
Oh, and the multitude of phony Elvisses (Elvii?) pretty much sucked! Bring back the PINHEADS, and the dance troupe from Canada!

Yea...MORE PICS......... I forgot my digital (DUH !)If there were 1500 cars at least 1000 of 'em were picture quality........The top 9 were OUTRAGEOUS as usual........the ONLY problem I have with Lead is all the cat-fights for parkin' spots (some idiots park across 4 or 5 spots BEFORE the event---kinda' makes me wish I was "key" kinda' guy...). Let's see them pics brother ............

  21. I don't want to use up too much space, but there aren't too many customs on the board lately.

  27. Yes, I'd like a double helping of the number 9 please... hold the topping, I'll add my own.
Pretty nice stuff there, Bil.........I'm dyin to know what Terry is doing with my old shark-nose Graham....
    Guess I could ask him.

  28. I asked him Rocky. He said it's on hold while he finishes some other projects first. He was showing his boat-tail speedster with a Viper v10 to some guy who wuz gonna do some work for it. Maybe he has to unload that to get some cash for the Sharknose.
I should be wheeling out your way in another week or so. Still trying to nail down a date.

Wow looks like a great show. I agree it is nice to see some customs on this board once and awhile. Thanks for posting them. I saw nmbr 5 at the Road Agents show and that is a stunningly beautiful Merc. Is nmbr 9 the real thing or is it a kit body?
