    Hello Hambers,

It’s Video Bob coming at you. Before we head back to VA to rest up I'd like to give you a quick rundown on Lead Scene East 2012. On behalf of the Oakside Community Park staff, I'd like to extend a sincere Thank You to ALL those that cruised into Biglerville to support Lead Scene East 2012. Other than a brief shower Thurs afternoon to remind us who was in charge, we couldn't have asked for better weather.

Like last year, Lead Scene East got under way on Thurs eve with a big Welcome Party for the 90 + participants that pre-entered the event. To show our appreciation for those "early bird supporters" 3 names were drawn and each received a $50.00 Cash Award courtesy of Jerry Brewis' Bay Country Financial Services out of Glen Burnie, MD. Another four names were drawn from our "pre entry" list and awarded a FREE Thurs nite motel room from each of the 4 sponsoring Motels. To further defray lodging expenses a drawing from Motel receipts was made Sunday morning that sent 2 participants home $50.00 richer.

Due to an affliction that many of us call WORK, our car count on Fri was held to approximately 75 cars. Throughout the weekend Ryan Productions from Hamilton, OH kept the airwaves filled with oldies, trivia & an ***ortment of games & contests. As expected, the Batmobile & our $25.00 per hour Participant & Spectator Cash drawings were a big success. To close out Friday's activities, approximately 25 cars cruised to Bill Martin’s “72 Ranch” outside of Biglerville for a private viewing of his fantastic collection of cars, one of which is his world record holding A/Gas Willys. What made this cruise really special was Bill flew in from Texas so he could be there to meet & greet everyone when they arrived.

After a few hours of R & R it was time for our 1st annual Poker Run. To say this was a big success would be an understatement. With the responses we got from participants AND sponsors, we feel we can make this one of the weekend highlights at next year’s event.

Early Saturday morning cars began cruising into the beautiful Oakside Community Park & continued on throughout the afternoon. It was really great to see a lot of the "old timers" coming back to the event to enjoy the "fun & games" atmosphere that exists once again. Thanks to the 1 day p*** that was offered many of the people we talked to at York cruised in to enjoy the cars & people. While it looked like there were a lot more, the registered cars topped out at an HONEST 209 vehicles that cruised in from 11 states & Canada. Over all we had a great selection of cars, some that I have never seen before.

A BIG Thank You needs to go out to the 3 judges that came in from VA, OH & MD & spent all day in the hot sun judging the vehicles that displayed their "Ready To Be Judged" card in the window. Our goal from early on was to create a judging system that would eliminate any & all politics & favoritism that used to plague this event. After the 100% approval we got from the participants in last year’s surveys we feel we've accomplished that goal.

After a full day of "fun in the sun" on Saturday 25 or so cars lined up behind the Batmobile for our ECCA Cruise down Rt 15 towards Gettysburg, an awesome cruise that next year will be extended & hopefully led by the PA State Police. After the cruise it was more R & R before heading back to Biglerville to rock & roll the nite away with one of the best groups ever to play at Oakside Community Park.

Early Sunday morning people began cruising back into the park for the Awards Program. Thanks to the overwhelming support our participants give our sponsors, our CASH GIVEAWAYS this year totaled more than $2,000. In closing, a sincere THANK YOU goes out to ALL those who supported Lead Scene East 2012.

Stats & event photo coverage of who won what will be posted on our web site www.leadsceneeast.com within the next 2 to 3 weeks.

Thanks a bunch to Bob and his crew for doing all they can to revive and provide a show in this beautiful park.

The atmosphere a**** those in attendance was great. I always make new friends there.

The DJ on stage throughout the event really helped set the tone and with all the activities, I can't believe anyone could get bored.

Looking forward to some of the 50 hours of videos you must have taken. That cruise on Route 15 was crazy. Better to have the cops in front instead of the rear next year.................lol

    Thanks again!
