Technical Leather Hub/Grease Seal?

    Is treating them required before use? If yes, do you smear same bearing grease the day before install, an oil like that of Neatsfoot maybe…? D2700F1A-272E-48BC-B64B-CFC17563AC08.jpeg

    or squirt a little motor oil on them? and use immediately.

    btw, you get big bonus points for using leather seals

    Lol. I was surprised that they even come that way anymore considering where I purchased them.

    I always soaked them with motor oil

    I always just wiped some of the bearing grease on them and installed the drum.

    I remember when most of the CR seals (Chicago Rawhide) where still leather up into the 80's.
