  3. Not sure who politzio legere is, and I am too lazy to look it up, but I agree with the pancaked hood. Nice touch with the headlights.

Update: both in & welded up...lots of grinding and then bodywork now...also trying to decide if I want to further shorten my 54 Desoto grille and re-install it, or go a different direction, possibly some conduit bent to fit and chromed with some expanded metal and drawer pulls....

Just following in the footsteps of some of like-minded East Coasters, like Lenny Legere and Bob Nitti :D

haha, no not quite....I love the Packard lights, however, in 1986 when the Packards went in, I originally planned on 60 Chrysler lights, and bought a set, but we didn't think they looked right with the way the back bumper sat...It made the lights sit too high and too far out on the bottom, I couldn't get enough "Jersey dip" with them... :D

'58 Ford mesh with '58 Caddy bullets would be hard to beat (as would the aforementioned '55 Pontiac bumpers.) The pic is not the best example, but all I can find.

(There was a '60's built white '56 Chevy with Lincoln quads, canted fenders, and a Ford/Caddy grille combo that looked great. Anybody got pics?)

    BTW, I love your shoebox!

    some minor progress:

I got everything ground down and ready for filler, and added the first light coat which was cheese grated. I also decided, for the time being to stay with my desoto grille, which I had to furthur shorten (this is the first 3 tooth Desoto grille I've ever seen, but I really think it works)

And yesterday, I got my 55 Pontiac bumpers and mocked them up, I really think they tie everything together, as well as matching the rear, which uses 55 Pontiac Safari wagon bumpers.

And while I was at it. I decided to mold the top fender seams, the only seams left on the car that needed it done..

Let me know what ya think......

Man that is kickass!! I'm also a big fan of tastefully canted quads, not the ones stuck in there at 45*. What's the shoebox convert from the late '50s with a roof (!) and blown 8-carb Hemi in it? Reminds me a lot of that car. Really dig the shortened DeSoto grille and Poncho bumpers, gives it the right look, but I don't think they're going to stay on at speed. :D
