Event Coverage Leaving for LSRU on Saturday, Yeah Right??

Here is what greeted me upon opening the garage door this morning. The pile that the snowplow left is 3 ft high. Good thing I have a 4wd Yukon. It don't look good for Saturday, we are supposed to leave at noon in the Vert for Austin. It's not supposed to warm enough to melt this ****.










Here is a pic from the street after I busted through the pile from the snowplow.





We will just have to wait and see what Saturday morning brings, it is supposed to be in the low 30's but that ain't gonna melt this ****.

We will be in Austin though on the 31st come hell or high water.

Bob this it totaly against every grain of our being but you could trailer to KC with the Yukon. Then leave the trailer and the yukon here and drive the rest of the way.

This Global Warming is a ****** isn't it? Where is ALGORE when you need him.

You layout is killer! I feel for ya. I put up with those winters 'till '86 then got the hell outa there. So. Tex gets hot as hell but being retired now I don't hafta work in it. Driving my '29 around almost every day of the year makes up for any heat.

 

Bob, the state should have the roads cleaned by then, right??? A little drive in the cold, in a convert, shouldn't make any difference to you...and paint and windshields can be replaced when nicked by rocks...

Buck up, it's Springtime in Austin, you just gotta get there...!!!

Its going to be 76 today with clear skies. Just thought you should know and I almost forgot there is swap meet this weekend. See ya in Austin.

 

There's no snow in Chicago (but they're calling for some this weekend), so you only have to deal with snow through part of WI, then it's smooth sailing. Besides, the snow won't be melted by Saturday, but the streets will be cleared, so drivingg won't be a problem. Stop at a car wash in IL and spray all the salt off and keep going!

 

But you sure have nice summers !!!

Sure it gets hot here, but I've already mowed the yard, been to 2 car shows and a swap meet. That's hard to beat for March.

 

yeah, today. frost advisory for sunday. then back up to 70. and tornadoes.

 

Our place looks the same as yours does. Day before yesterday there was no snow except for the very bottom of the ditches. Now, we're looking at another week to get rid of the new snow............and that's IF the temps stay above 32 and we don't get any more of the damned stuff.

AHHHHH Texas cold,hot, but 90% car weather all year round!!!! You should call the neighbors and tell them to get some shovels out you got to get down here.Good Luck!!!!!

Well it's getting cleaned up around here. That is the nice part about living in an area that is prepared for this kind of ****. All of the streets are plowed and the city is picking up the snow from the middle of the main streets and it's only about 12 hours after it stopped snowing.








And it only snowed a bunch here, about 50 miles south of here all they had was rain so it looks like we should have no problem getting out of here on Saturday. First stop Memphis.
