have a 41 chevy coupe old g***er,sad shape on the fence put here back as a g***er , or rip the fenders off run no dog house slam her on the ground ????
I'd rather see her as a ragid g***er, than a fenderless wonder. Most fat fendered cars just don't look right without fenders. And a 41 chevy is one of them...John
The bigger the body, the more work it is to get it back into shape. I did a 48 fleetline aero and about mid-way through, I thought to myself, if all this car's sheetmetal was flattened out and laid on the ground it would cover a huge area. Keep the fenders, they don't look right without them. Just have to get after it, and getter done!...
Keep the fenders. If you dont keep the fenders and stay g***er, then you didnt spend much time picking your screen name!
The beauty of a compe***ion car is that compe***ion cars are often ratty. So you can do repairs to the floor and body mounting that would be considered hacky shortcuts by street-restoration standards, but completely acceptable by drag-car standards. All those high dollar or hard to find trim bits will only slow a drag car down. Accordingly, building one is a lot of fun because it's easy, cheap, and highly improvisational. Gutted, primered, high horsepower drag cars will never go out of style. They've been on the strips since day one.
That's a no brainer. I would dare to say there is NOT ONE car or truck made after the mid 30's that looks good without fenders.
Quit wasting time wondering what we think , there's a g***er in your garage waiting to be worked on .
