We have three cats at home, and that's some hard **** to get rid of. Did you flip the carpet up and clean both sides? you might have to clean the pad and the carpet individually. Lysol the **** outta the pad and febreeze the hell out of the carpet. Kill the car, and leave the windows down again until it airs out. I don't know of a miracle cure.....

  4. Damn it man, take control of the freaking situation!

March your *** out to the garage, piss all over that carpet, and show that cat who's boss!

Or, use a combination of Simple Green and baking soda and scrub like there's no tomorrow, then vacuum up.

  5. You are screwed...the last room mate I had her ****in cat pissed on my lazy boy....I had to throw that **** out (and by **** I mean, lazy boy, cat and room mate). it will never go away it is like herpes....it may not smell for a day or two and then **** cat piss smell....tear out the carpet and whatever else the little devil got on a replace it. if you have the insulation that is foil backed tear it out to cause it will get in everything...

I hate ****in cats....they are only good over noodles....

Burn the cat and use it's ashes to draw the smell out of the carpet.

I have found that dryer sheets help... put them under the carpet and hide them other places in the car... the heat makes them kick up too so it should hide the smell a little better.

Also, I'd wash down EVERY SURFACE in the car, not just where you think the cat sprayed... you'd be surprised how that stuff can fly! One drop on the firewall or behind the dash will smell up the whole car.

My cat used to stand in the driver's seat... back up to the steering wheel, and spray the horn ****on dead center.

    Evil Evil Cat.

Get a product called Nature's Miracle...should be available at most pet supply stores. Sometimes it could take up to a couple of weeks to work but it works. I had to use it to rid a forclosure home I moved into ( they had 8 cats and the smell would about burn your lungs out when you walked in the door). If you use it make sure you test it in an inconpicous spot before you do the rest of the carpet. Some carpets might change color once applied depending on the dyes used.

tried the natures miracle and that didnt help... even used it in the shampooer

  10. Antibacterial dishsoap, white vinegar and hot water; then an Airsponge; then Fabreeze; then air and time.

    Swearing helps.

If you keep shampooing the **** outta your carpet you're probably going to destroy it or at least discolour it. Might consider just ripping it out and starting new.

It ****s. I know it. Good luck.

As proud cat owners and animal rescuers ( I'll gut ANYONE who I see harming animals) we run into that problem...use Febreze and then put some pet odor carpet powder into it...vacuum out..another hit of spray....that should help.

  12. Toss that pad and take the carpet out and Car wash it with a couple bucks of hot soapy water....dry in the sun- install and spray a can of OZIUM[walmart has it] it will deororize [like Lysol].......

i've heard that if you pour coffee grounds all over it and let it set for a few days it gets rid of the smell. i've never done it so i dont know if it really works.

    dead on.

    Apple vinegar to be exact.

Just make sure that once you spray it down.....you can do like a 50/50 vin to water solution. Spray it...whipe it down. Then blot it out. After that vacuum the **** out of it. It needs to be as dry as possible.

I used to do flooring....animal piss is about the worst smell on the planet. My first job I had to cut/roll/carry out/load/unload carpet so satuated with piss it was drippin on me. 108 degrees in livermore...no ac/no fans.

had to sit in the truck and drive to san leandro to unload it then back to livermore home before I could shower.

through some vinegar in with my wash...good as new.

How about balsamic vinegar, and some virgin olive oil... oh, and some parmesean, and dip your bread in it.

Cat heads make excellent shift knobs, they're so fuzzy.

  19. FEBREEZE...haha.

And when you get the stinch out of the carpet, plug that cats *** with a few rounds from a .22cal to teach em a lesson.

Places like Lowes sells all sorts of carpets cleaners and industrial odor removers.........just a thought. If it was mine though, I'd go for Vinegar. Just make sure the car floor isn't hot otherwise it will turn into a gas and burn your eyes and lungs. I cook for a living and at the end of it all...plain white vinegar breaks up EVERYTHING!

Oh and if I gots to get pissed on, I'd rather it be a cat!:D

I've tried all of this stuff... nothing works... I can still smell it. Get a clothes pin... stick it on your nose... or sell the car. Sorry man, that stinks!!!

    White vinegar
    or
Baking soda then white vinegar...be prepared for the foam from that mix!
Take the carpet out and hose it good and dry it better after that though.
    White vinegar kills mold too.

If the cat is a bother, trap it, get it fixed, and turn it loose again.
Most communities have a cat neutering service, either free or cheap.

Since I have 5 house cats and still cuss at the Tom that pisses on and ruins my chrome wheels, I agree with Ace, don't hurt them...
Besides, cats keep the rodents away...!

  25. I had to read this when I seen it just too see what people said about a cure, truth is there isn't one. I had a used car lot for 10 years, I've had some fonky smelling cars to get clean and have had this problem. A good friend worked at the animal pound in town for years and has had tons of experience with it also. You have to get the stuff that works at the bacterial level that breaks down the enzymes because they just keep multiplying so to speak....there is no way you're ever going to "clean" it some cleaning product. Even if you get the enzyme / piss killer stuff , take it out and act directly on the problem it's never worked totally to where you couldn't smell it......that cat piss is some bad*** permanent stuff. And you'll definately never get it from the top. No matter how good you think you got it, on a hot day it'll bust you right in the face when you open the door, you'll never be able to leave the windows all rolled up again, the stench will be in everything before long, seats, door panels, dash, even solid objects take on the smell. Best bet is to throw out whatever got within 2 feet of. It's so bad it's almost not a joke to tell you to sell the car or have to cut the damn floor out and weld new in. Good luck though...:)

    amen
we ( the wife and I ) have 3 cats, this is the ****!
you have to soak it !
pour it over the carpet stright from the bottle, put a fan in there and let it dry.
you have to use alot, but it will work.

After lots of experience finding things in the garage, on our porch and our laundry room that had been wizzed on (Neighbor's cat outside, ours inside) I noticed that after it dried, there was always an oily residue. Oil and water don't mix.
I have a couple of very expensive back packing tents that were in the ba*****t, and the cat went on them so much they were soaking wet--completely saturated. I put them in a big metal wash tub, and soaked them/flushed it with a running hose for about a week. Worked perfect--not a hint of cat pee.
I've also done this with heavy moving pads, jackets, and lawn chair bags.
Pull your carpet out, pull the pad up, and submerge it for a week, flushing the water out with the garden hose for several hours at a time. Then let it dry.
    Cheaper than new carpet.

For my neighbor cats, after repeatedly telling them to get the cats fixed because they were ruining my stuff and everyone else's, I finally bought a live trap and gave the cats an all-expenses paid move to a new home in the country. Felt kinda bad, but it's not like I didn't talk to the neighbors several times. Including saying point-blank that the cats were going to turn up missing if they kept coming into my garage and ruining my stuff.
    Oh well.

Urine, cat or others, will glow white under a black light. Use a black light and find the spot. Soak the spot with an enzyme cleaner...nothing else will work unless you can submerge the article for weeks in fresh water! The enzymes will eat the organic material in the urine and permanently remove the CAUSE of the odor. It is at this stage that you can use normal cleaners to remove the residue. Some time ago I bought a complete kit from "Just Rite Cleaning Products", 1-800-890-3202 or 888-419-1299. It came with a black light and all the materials necessary to treat any soiled surface...do yourself a favor and give the experts a call...
