There is some footage of the Spirt of America wreckage at Bonneville <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/6TOQe-I86Fk&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/6TOQe-I86Fk&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
I have never seen footage of the Lockhart/ Stutz Blackhawk crash before. The only worse crashes that come to mind would be 1903 Paris-Madrid, and the 1954 Lemans.
DAMN WORK COMPUTER!! blocks out all the good stuff. I see no video. yesterday I saw no pictures on one thread. guess I'll go sweep the floor.
I can't click those links at work, but does anyone have the Fireball Roberts crash? Sad, but.. legendary. Also, the accident that sent Lee Petty over the wall...

Looks like the driver of that red Studebaker at Bonneville got tossed out the door! Love the wheelie/crossed-up flat-tracker motorcycle save in the corner! Breedlove's comment after swimming out of the Spirit of America wreck was: "And now for my next trick!" The guy in the straw hat who says "high-compression engines" is WWI ace Eddie Rickenbacker. Also a racer.
