Man you guys are brave souls hanging that much expensive hardware off an engine stand without any other support! I'd be scared to death the bolts would pull out and all that money would be sitting on the floor. Hell, I even put a support at the front for my puny assed flattie short block!

Here's mine.not sure if it's overrated as I have yet to run it. Ignore the distributor hold down and the fact it was machined @ the shop a the late great Chevy engine guy Lamar Walden. Hopefully this is the year it's running and Dyno tuned by Rob Walden his son who is keeping the family business running strong. Great people to know and deal with for generations. image.jpeg

I agree 100% with you Gorden. The majority of engine stands are made with
thin wall tubing and are in the same vane as jack stands. I build my own
engine stands or have bought a couple that are obviously well built and
robust. Not claiming to be an design engineer by any means. I do have
confidence in my abilities to build or evaluate an adequate engine support
to my satisfaction. I did have a structural engineer acquaintance check out
the two I have on hand. One I built and one someone else built. Both were
were up to his approval standards. I do know of a couple that failed
under heavy engine assemblies. I also support the front of the motor as well.

Hemis are like pretty women, they don't really need any makeup.

When i bought my first Hemi my friends thought i was dumb to drive with that old shit.
Then it got a bit cool that i have that old shit.
And now they are overrated. Oh well, i guess i will stick with them for a while more.

The 53 Dodge that started it all. I bought it dec 86.
    A 140 hp 241 Hemi with 3 spd manual.

My wifes Dodge 56 D500 she bought in mars 89.
    A 260 hp 315 with a 2sp Powerflite automatic.

My other 53 Dodge sparepart car. 241 and 3 sp manual.

One of my spare Red Ram. A 55 270 with 170 hp. Here mated to a Ford 3sp for my hotrod.
I had a spare 241 but it was sold to a friend that needed something overrated to his Mercury-49
instead for the overrated flathead it had.

Some spareparts couse i cant trust that the dealer have any left.
Not all is gold but try to collect spareparts if i can afford them.

When I asked the question above about the thermostat housing I referenced the wrong post.
