Damn, have we become so lazy that we can't just carry on a conversation with the words that we mean? It takes more time explainging what you mean than saying it correctly. Maybe that's why the younger generation is always saying "know what I'm sayin'", and all the other slag **** they repeat in a conversation over and over and over.
IIRC . . . Tommy, you shoulda stayed awake in lawyer cl***. OG . . . Original and from what a magazine guy told me, OG stands for Old Guy. He called himself that, kinda funny I thought since he must have been in his early 30's. Age is just a number . . . unless you're a magazine writer. I wuz gonna tell you more, but I can't remember what it was....
This is why I asked such a stupid OT question. If it has anything to do with "Gangsta", you won't see it in any of my posts. There is no way that I'd have figured that out. I get most of the net lingo. I'm more of an Old Fart than an Old Guy. IMHO FWIW
I love the fact that kids can't spell anymore. It makes us guys with English degrees useful and marketable now. We can write and use complete sentences.
I looked at that site and i dont know how the **** anyone could remember all that ****.. I also noticed that they left out 807? Dave
My kids throw that text talk at me all time and it pisses me off cause I dont know what it means. Is there a text language for ebonics yet? I would be interested in learning it. I think text talk should be forbidden here on the HAMB.
This might help with some of the text message translations http://www.webopedia.com/quick_ref/textmessageabbreviations.asp http://www.noslang.com/ this one translates TFTM (the ****in text messages) for you

Thanks tommy for starting this thread. 'cause IDND (I'm dumber n Dirt) with this new texting stuff. I'm constantly calling my daughters up to ask what some abbreviation means, they usually answer right away other times They are laughing at me so hard they never do answer. I did however, Figure out dilligaf, on my own....LOL OFR, OLY The cancer car lives Give to cancer research
Not directly related to OG, but when I first turned legal, a good friend took me to a bar called the Phyrst in State College, Pa. There was an elaborately carved wooden sign behind the bar that read "IITYWYBAD". Everytime I asked him what the sign meant, he would say "If I tell you, will you buy a drink?", and of course I would say "sure, but what does the sign mean???"
That is some funny ****... http://sites.gizoogle.com/index2.ph...rnal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=271327&page=3
Zombie Hot Rod, good catch. Do not yell at your children and type at the same time. I could edit but screw it. By the way, I went to Indiana University, we can't even tell time in this State.
