  2. Stupid question #1: what kinda market values are the 55-56 nomads getting in the US at the moment? Obviously that'll be dependent on condition.

Stupid question #2: are most of the unique panels/trim pieces available?

Reason I ask is that I'm hoping to check one out this coming weekend that's been imported from Chile. It's a '56 model.

He's a member of this board, I don't remember what his user name is though. I've spoke to him about the car before, nice guy.

    So.. Where's the Custom Nomads?
I haven't seen a "Custom" built from a Nomad yet in this thread.
Lowriders and gassers yes but not one customized Nomad.

Someone got a shot of that chopped and sectioned one with the 8 chrome pipes coming out over the front fenders and the "flying bridge" and vista cruiser windos in the roof?

It's Gary Kleckner, and the Chevado is alive and well in his garage in Arizona. I seen it in person...and wrote that story. :)

The Playboy Nomad is now a pastel-hued Art Himsl-painted easter egg with Weld wheels. It was for sale in Pleasanton last year. It's had the interior updated also. Such a shame because it kicked ass in the copper!

DrJ, you know the only difference between a custom Nomad and a lo-lo Nomad is the zip code!

OH MAN you are sooooooo right! Steves Auto Resto does "GREAT" work but those
(nomads-or so called realmad & newmad) he built make me sick to my stomach. GAG! :D

------- there aint NO cutting up a nomad to make a custom! maybe make a camino out of one but
butcherin up a nomad is like cutting up a corvette to make a custom, IT JUST DOES NOT WORK!

  10. laid55: given your name, I assume this is yours..?? What's the story behind it? It's pictured in the latest Rodders Journal, yeah?

if that picture doesn't convince at least one other person to roll out a fresh set of cragars and whitewalls, i'll eat my hat...or at least, my visor.

Now this isn't a Nomad, but it's pretty close.

yeah bro.there's a small picture of it in #34 in the spread for my buddies 50'fleetline.had a great time that day!thanks

  16. It's a real nice car. There's a look about it that's really pressed a button in me....I've been hasslin' my girl about gettin' one ever since I saw it. You got any more pics of it? Interior? Rear load area?

Nice choice of wheels and tires too. Any idea of what you're gonna do with the roof? Looks like a little bit of cancer towards the back.

Thanks Peddro.i'm redoing a set of skylark wires for it right now.the roof does have some cancer.most of them are cursed right there.I have a whole other roof for it that I'll be putting on it.real nice with no rust.I'm really seriously leaning toward taking a couple of inches out of it while I'm at it!I'll get some of those you asked for tomorrow.
