Mainly because if you invest a lot of time and money into a car, a 2 door will always be worth more. But 4 doors are a lot more accepted now than when I was young, so maybe that will change. I still think if you're gonna go to a lot of expense and work, you're better off with a 2 door though. I'd leave that one alone and drive it if it was mine.

I dig it as a daily. Especially if you got kids. Keep it stock, add some original accessories(ie. skirts).
Just DON'T be "that" guy that shaves just the rear door handles.
    Nice ride.

  6. You mean to tell me that your car doesn't talk to you and express opinions about other cars? Your car doesn't spontaneously honk its horn at cars and people it likes?

Yea, that's been my problem with my 53 FORD 4 door. It's a nice car, so drop it some and drive it.

had a couple people talk **** when I bought my 49 4 door. one guy even warned me not to put much money in it cuz it's a 4 door like I was some sort of bone head for buying a worthless 4 door. drove it for 2 years and got every penny back out of it that I put in.

    some day I'll buy another.

Actually, I think it would be more accurate to say that telling people what to like is close minded. I don't happen to like 4-doors, but I fail to see how that cl***ifies me as close minded.

I drive my 4 door almost everyday (love it). I have never heard anything negative ever and don't care if I did. I have about 6k in it, it looks good. To trick it out I would need to double+ that. Have other things I need to put money into.

Working on my bodywork skills to make that number more reasonable.

Great car! Did you find that in New England??? I bought one from the original owner back in 1967, it was my first car on the road, traveled many troublefree miles. Have fun with it.

I saw your car in an old post and was blown away...4 door cool! I dig it and I'm definitely going to bag it! I need help figuring out all I have to do to get it to lay down...I hear it's a ton of work to get it that low.

I totally hear ya. I feel pretty good about it 'cause I've been described as one of those "happy go lucky" type of people who rarely get bummed about what people think is cool or not (which is lucky for me i guess). Everybody has a different opinion of the word and that is good or all the cars would look exactly the same.

Also I didn't buy it with the thought of resale value so much but for havin' fun cruising w/the family. I think the car is way cooler than all the **** boxes other people around here drive for less than 5K. Plus, I like the idea of resurrecting an old car and keeping it alive instead of it getting melted down and sent to China. 4 doors need love too:D

That's what is great about these boards...respectful opinions are valued. You know what I like the most about what you said?....that no one historically has modified 4 doors that much. That makes me want to mess with one more! Its all good IMO.
