I have used linseed oil to refinish furniture, it dries a lot less shiny than that. Maybe because it soaks into the wood? Not sure….

Yeah, we have always used it on ax handles at the firehouse, and used to use it on wooden ladders when we still had them in service. I'm hoping the "sticky" wears off lol... I should've thinned it

To all linseed oil users, be careful what you do with the oil soaked rags. They will generate heat and self combust if not disposed of properly! 60 Special

Lol yeah I heard that. I took the one rag I used and laid it in the middle of my barn floor, nothing around it, on concrete. So if it was to burn, it's on its own lol

Looks great man. You can thin the linseed oil with mineral spirits. It'll help loose the sticky sooner.

Thought about going over it with some mineral spirits, but that would just wipe it clean huh?

Yea, I'd just let it settle on its own now. I should have said cut when you apply it.

He came to me, I wasn't advertising the truck but I gave him a price and he said he was interested, and to call him when I got back. He stopped by the shop before I went and told me he bought something late model, so he was gonna back out. No big deal. I haven't made up my mind completely if I'm gonna keep it or not. It's a fun truck to drive. But they're everywhere. We'll see what happens.
