    Different piece of property ..

Hallsville had a offer from a group to keep it a drag strip for the asking price

The county would not sell it, it did sell for allot more than the asking price from what i was told

Better make it a 1000 shares, you will need operating capital. I know of 3 auto type executives that may be needing a job soon.

I have about 100 people that have commited around $150k so far

My guess is get down and dirty and some would rabbit ..other might step forward ..

Half down owner finance the balance on a 15 year loan ?

If some strips are not saved at some point , racing will be gone ..

No place to race anymore ..

No, its a nice place .. There are a few others in the area

Paris, Texas is somewhat close --North west about 100-125 miles

Rusk, Texas is somewhat close -south west about 125-150

Belle Rose is about 250 south

This is just north of Shreveport ( many gambling casino's )

Shreveport is due east of DFW about 160-175

No idea of what the place did for income / costs

They just dumped about 400k into the place , grandstands, etc

Hosted a couple big events in 2005,2006 and 2007

With the current state of affairs in the country I'd think of it as a land purchase deal its 160 acres ..

I'd like to believe that one day the land would easy exceed the purchase price

I would think with a half volunteer staff , and a decent budget it could sustain itself thru the years

Hey thats my old stompin grounds... sweet track there... Guys in my town just east of there would go there to run their rides... I almost took my 96 camaro ss there, but once they said it was somwhere around 100 bucks a run... I figured I would keep it on the back roads. Gilliam was a strange place for a raceway... but I ***ume the one in prescot arkansas isnt in any better a place and it was always busy.

From what I hear, it was built in '98 at a cost of 7 million smackeroos. Damn, does any body want to buy a home furnishings store, an excavation service and a home/shop/out buildings on 17 acres? I'd be gone!

Track is back up for sale, the buyer (who was NOT the guy from NPR, I was misinformed) could not show up with the cash, probably the recent economy got him and his group. They were fairly serious about it, had a booth at Shreveport World of Wheels and were looking for workers.

Kevin AKA DOC should buy it outright. Build his dream "warehouse" on the property and throw a few drag racing parties there each year. A win/win for everyone. :D

I live very very close to that race track I've even raced there before its an awsome track one of the few that are still quarter mile tracks instead of 1/8th mile tracks My home track is prescott raceway because its only 20min from me but redriver raceway is bigger and better in alot of way other than there isn't alot of shade but plenty of parking to have a huge race weekend were some real money could be made if done right. I drive by the track 3 or 4 times a week on my truck route.
