I also had never heard it either.

 

I’ve owned a 40 Tudor for over 40 years and never heard nor call it a turtleback.

 

Maybe it's a regional thing. I've always heard them called that but I'm old!

 

Here are a couple of pictures of our recently purchased '40 Ford. A friend saw the car at this year's Back to the Fifties show and sent some pictures. A couple weeks later we drove to Iowa, looked at the car and drove it home. The first picture is how we bought it and the second is how it looks now. It was a good looking car before but I prefer this look. It has a 350/700r, heat, air, power steering and brakes. It's built for highway cruising.

My 40 coupe is a twin to yours maplefrm, Could easily be taken as the same car, set up like yours. I haven't changed the wide whites but have been thinking of it. Especially after seeing yours. Thanks for sharing!

My old 40 at "The All Ford" show last Sunday.

 

I thought something was familiar about this picture the other night. I realized just now that this is my buddy’s bitchin 32, and his wife’s bitchin 40. John and Martine Sticha.

John and I met at the GNRS back in 2023, when my Daughter and I gave John and Ken Bentz our Family Tradition award at the GNRS.
Typically we give out one award per year but we really hit it off with both John and Ken and the history of their cars and our families as life long hot rodders. We were compelled to give out a second award. That’s the award on the wall in the background (the white one) with my “arrow” pointing it out. Really top notch cars and quality people.

I'm sure its been on here before. But this is one of my favorite 40 Coupe pics..
