I saw a reference via google that Greg traded a 1959 Les Paul guitar for the 1939 Ford. Sounds like a great trade to me - but I can not play a guitar. Raised in the NC Mountians in the early 1970's - I was preteen kid when the Allman Brother's Band played Love Valley in 1970 - and bought property. Really loved his music - and values. Todays artists fall short of the mark.

  11. Like many on here, I just can't keep '40s out of my system. Posted up some of the previous owned stuff a couple years ago on page 8, but here's a new to me one just picked up from a fellow HAMBer. Already doing a little tweaking with a bit more to go, but for the most part it's just what I wanted to recreate the early '60s high school vibe I want. red 40 cpe day 1 01.JPG red 40 cpe day 1 05.JPG

  16. Thanks. When I was looking it came down to this one and a black one that showed great on top but needed more refinement on the mechanicals. I went with this one because the PO Rob did a nice job of making it go as well as look good.

Thanks, color can always be "one of those things". It's so dependent on light. When I took these shots it was heavy cloud cover. In the PO's sales ad his camera made it look a tad orangey, not quite to the point of Mustang Poppy Red, but in that direction. He says he has used the red from a Ford Lightning truck to touch up chips. I had to warm up to this color, and adding the trim rings helped (it's a balance thing). To my eye it does resemble a '40 factory color called Vermillion red.

Jim and Vickie Delzer’s 1940 Ford DeLuxe Coupe has been restored to even better condition than it was in when Vickie rode in the car as an infant in the mid-1960s. The beautiful Lyon Blue coupe was treated to a complete body-off-frame, nut-and-bolt restoration over a period of more than seven years. Mike Berry The Wichita Eagle

Well Miss Linda needed a little cheering up today so after I got her dressed,we went to the Epping NH version of a big city food truck. A shingled Winnebago parked next to the NAPA store on Rt 125. After cheeseburgers and crispy good onion rings eaten to the background music of the funny cars at New England Dragway (NHRA Nats this weekend), all was right with the world.
By the way Don, what do you think? After all imitation is the purest form of flattery.

  28. The two reasons that made me fall in love with this fog lamp were the beautiful amber color and the way the fluted lens mimics the Forty Standard grill bars.:D
