Wish I had a better memory. I remember this car from back in the 70's I think it was green then. I have tried in vane to find a picture of it. Seemed like it was in the Everett area then. My ex wife must have that picture album. We were friends with the owners at that time but lost track of each other many years ago and I cannot remember his name.

  4. I see 3 photos I took. Joe Albeitz's darker yellow 40 pickup, Bob Benck's maroon 39 Deluxe, and the late Gary Opitz's yellow 40 pickup. Thanks for sharing them, David!

I hope olschoolrodder doesn't mind I saw his pictures of the Varmit on another post. It looks like Dan Hay's Varmit has received a new set of cloths over the last 5 months.Nicely done kind of looks like it got outfitted for a tuxedo! That doen't mean I didn't like it the way you built it Dan.

  7. The "Varmit" is looking fancy. If olschoolrodder hasn't swapped out the radiator, that would be the original one out of my '40 coupe.

The Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville, Ga. on Sunday morning. A rainy Saturday & a frigid, windy Sunday really put the screws to the event this year.

Sorry to hear about the weather. This one of my favorite shows and had too many other things going-on to make the trip.

At first glance , I thought the picture of the red 40 Standard from the Moonshine festival was my 40 standard. Just wished mine was as nice . Later Bill

  23. While I am not a huge fan of kustoms, I do kinda like this tail dragger, although I'd like it a few inches further down all the way around.

  24. I'm kinda a 40 newby, what are the differences between the Deluxe and the Standard body styles.

I know the hood, grille, headlight doors, and obviously no Deluxe emblem on the hood, are there any others?

  25. Steering wheel and horn button, gauge panel, dash trim/colors, knob color, door handles, floor mat, glove box door would be interior

Standards came from the factory with only 1 tail lamp on the driver's side.

Those are just some quickies that I could think of off the top of my head.

Also the hood center stainless strip is smooth not ribbed , the Ford emblem on the hood is script not blocked like the deluxe, trunk v-8 emblem color, and the hub caps. On the inside , door garnish moldings and only 1 sun visor on the Standard. The list goes on and on about like the differences between 33 and 34 Fords. Later Bill

Did the standard come equipped with the V8-60?
