  1. Thanks!
Neither did I, but it looks like it has the blue/green hue that RMG has.
May be it’s the way the sun is on it. Could be Tropical Green.
Thinking about that color for my pickup.

Love that copper coupe. What color exactly is that copper ? There are many copper colors but most look like they are from today's cars.

I like the color too, & have put off body work to keep it. IMG_0340.JPG From the research I've done I believe it's actually Sierra Gold... the G.M. color from the late 50's. The car was painted in the late 60's, early 70's by a previous owner. When I do get around to re-painting the car, I plan on keeping it as close to this color as I can!

  4. .......Seems there was a Model A color they called Rock Moss Green.

  5. There was. Also a truck color.

upload_2020-12-20_3-52-34.png Happy Holidays to all 40 Ford owners/builders/drivers…

    Hello,

Having owned two 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery hot rods over a 16 year span, we came to love the style and looks of the 1940 Ford grouping. Standard and deluxe car versions, trucks, vans, and of course, sedan delivery models. We absorbed all sorts of comments over time and they did nothing to distract us from driving the daylights out of both hot rods. Here comes the bakery delivery van, How is the plumbing business? Did those surfboards get stuck in the back? Did the U.S. Postal service get new delivery vehicles? Paint some blue and white highlights and it fits right into the postal service color scheme.

At any rate, as a teenager, it was the open road and reliability that made the sedan delivery the best for me. I have always been a happy teenager, besides the normal teenage maladies. But, when I was inside of my Salmon Pink, Flathead powered, Ford Sedan Delivery, nothing could go wrong and the road was the choice for expanding my freedom. There were limitations to owning a sedan delivery… girls’ parents hated it, there were always snide comments about the sedan delivery as noted above versus not having a fast hot rod.

But, on the bright side, it gave tons of privacy, got me where I wanted to go, South to San Diego surf spots, and North to Santa Barbara surf spots, etc. as well as 100+ mile weekly road trips from our Long Beach house to South Orange County for some pristine surf adventures. Both 1940 Ford Sedan deliveries always were a big hit during Christmas Holiday season. The Red sedan delivery already looked the part without any decorations.

As twenty somethings, my wife and I loved the privacy and power that the sedan delivery offered us on our road trips. It was much better than a normal van of any kind. The rebuilding and fixing all of the problems it had on our first together purchase was daunting. But, patience paid off as it became a road worthy sedan delivery with abundant SBC power and A/C comfort for both of us. It drove so nicely after spending hours and days fixing things up, my wife enjoyed taking the sedan delivery to visit her friends and daily errand trips.

We were sad to see it go, but the sedan delivery was always a two person vehicle. That was fine for the two of us and our photography business gear + surfing paraphernalia on our extended road trips. But, when an addition to our family popped up, it was time to say goodbye. It was awkward and not the safest, most convenient way to transport anyone in the back. The outward vision was limited to say the least.

The world’s largest bow on display at the Cidatel Shopping Center in Los Angeles. If I could put that bow on the OLD sedan delivery for all of the owners and builders, then happy holidays to you and your family.

I took it apart to paint it this summer and my right knee blew out on me . Now I have a pile of primer Ed parts and a fresh chassis to put under it but it’s on hold till I get my knee fixed. While the virus is going around I am hesitant to get it fixed. Frank

    Hello,
Don't forget the "Gathering of The Tribes," including one special green 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery with black fenders. They all got their Christmas Trees in the yard. The Granddaughter Tree is still going strong after 15 years.

Merry Christmas to all 1940 Ford builders, drivers and owners.

Happy Holidays through out the winter season.

Well I've watched long enough !!! , time to book my " ol " road eater she came to me with a 283 sbc and power glide. I am only the 5th owner since ford built it, it has one lacquer repaint , in 1980, she is cracking pretty bad . I'll run it that way from now on. It has a new 355 sbc and a Muncie 4 speed with 323 nova rear. Had 2600 miles on it when the covid shut us down . Hope it opens up next year ??????????

  21. I've posted this pic before, I believe. It's one that Dennis Parks took during a lull in the activity during the 2018 St Louis Area Hot Rod Hundred while we were goofing off.

My daughter's boyfriend is an art student at one of the local colleges and he used the image to create this as the Christmas gift he gave to me this afternoon. It's based on the Disney+ series "The Mandalorian", which we have been watching season two each week. Figured it was something you guys might get a kick out of.
