If that's the one I think it is, I believe it has a nailhead under the hood. My recollection is that the guy who owned it passed away, but I lost track of who has it now.

Larry Lamb's of Colfax, Iowa. He passed away about ten years ago. It does have a nailhead, and his HAMB handle was NailheadForty. It still lives in Iowa.

As soon as I read his name, I was like "Yeah...that's the guy's name". Larry used to park around the corner from the goat barns (sadly torn down now) at the MidAm Street Rod Nats. Always loved seeing his '40 when he came to town.

Yes, I think they travelled together to Bonneville that year. Bob told me that Larry let Bob take the forty on a long trip when his (Bob's) Chev was apart. Pretty good friend, I'd say.
