  2. And let's hear it for the not-the-same-old-engine choice, too!

Bill is a good guy! He sold me a set of floors for my 40 that I needed badly after I got screwed over on a set. (Which reminds me I still have not received the floors I payed Bradley's for)

  6. Pretty cool to see a Standard that's never been modified with a second tailight.

One night last summer, was pulled over for having the single taillight, but I think the cop left me off once he saw I lived about 1 mile away. I didn't even have to get into the "it came from the factory that way" argument.

ditto. That was a downer. Funny, that really stuck in my mind, that was when I was looking for a coupe, before my convert found me...

John Hotchstetter from Ohio found these pics of his '1963 era tudor, Caddy powered. Real back in the day time machine. Couple of years back we traced it down in Sandusky Ohio - but it didnt work out and we lost touch with it again . Drat !"

another picture from the past, I suspect they towed it to competition, due to extra tailights. We used to flat tow my B/MP '62 Corvette with a tow bar to Lebanon Valley and Dover back in the '60s and had clamp on lights like these wired to my old man's '64 El Camino.

While the production numbers for 1940 Fords showed their popularity, that also attracted the stock car guys and many coupes and sedans went racing. So here are some examples and a typical 1940 Ford big truck hauler from the early days of NASCAR.

Yes. 1940 Olds with '49 Chev license guards added. For some reason those Olds bumpers were popular on customs in the postwar years.

Those Olds bumpers are still popular with me ... love to have a set, but they are $$$$$ when you can find them.

  20. From the past, yes, but not too distant past! This shot is from the dirt drags event in Colorado this past summer. Great article in the inaugural issue of Forged magazine, if you can find it!

The D/G chevy powered '40, Hodge and Kicha were the owners, sponsored by their favorite Spokane burger joint. Photo courtesy of Bruce V. Malmstead from Flyin' Phil's (Phil R. Elliot) Drag Racing NW history website. Could be a forerunner to Jerry Moreland's car?
