Jeez-O-Pete! Ya' gotta' be kiddin' me. This guy's a moron! How much time ya' think it takes to stage all those little mini-movies "starring" plastic doll figures in model cars and Tonka Toys?? No wonder I didn't see any pics of the dude himself in a real hot-rod. He probaoly ain't got no time left in the day to twist wrenches. I went to his site to check out the review because you suggested it but I can't believe anyone would take this idiot seriously.

No disrespect to you Merc. Not tryin' to start no chit, I just think he's a waste of time.

I ain't no movie-makin' guru but I would suggest the fault of this flick lies with the cutting-room editor. I'd also say that if you don't "get it"--what the movie's about--you've never been a down-and-dirty-for-money street racer. Not everyone has the chance to do it and it's definitely a different kinda' lifestyle. I think TLBT comes as close as any to accuracy, tho' the quality and the flow of it are pretty uneven.

Like everything else this is just my opinion.....:)...Eddie.

Well, If hollywood remade that movie today, The cast would prolly go something like this
Driver-eminem or mnm's whatever he calls himself
    Mechanic-Snoop Dogg
    GTO-50 cent
    Girl-jay lo
55-Some piece of shit import with a motorcycle pipe that sounds like a chainsaw

  6. Yeh, and race from London to Edinburgh. In a Vauxaull and Peugot.

  7. sorry but , you need some help...

ill give you cages acting is better then h.b. halliki's anyday but hb wasnt an actor he was just a guy doing something for fun

and angelina jolie is knock down drop dead georgous alot better then the chick from the original

allot of the cars used in the remake where better then the original superbird, 57 t-bird, hemi cuda ,lead sled, compared to limos, stutz's , big ole' bronco, coyote etc

but the one car they shouldnt have messed with was elenor she is and allways will be a 73 mustang screw that made up foose 67 shelby

*************warning way off topicfor this board below**********
ive owned a 72 mach 1 and i currently have a 69 coupe i like the original mustangs but as far as ride, comfort and stability the originals cant hold a candel to a 71-73
    *********************************************************

now back to the main topic
i wouldnt do a remake of TLB for the same reasons that have been mentioned the movie did suck but its ok to watch on a cold rainy/ snowy day if you cant find something better to do

if they did make a remake this should be the cast

    tim robbins as the driver
greg henry ( willys driver from hot rod) as the GTO driver
    sandra bullock as the girl
since he is a car guy (supposedly) nic cage would make a good mechanic

the GTO (car) would probably either a new shelby or camaro
the 55 would be most likly a 69 charger or other mopar they seem to be the go to car for hollywood

Leave Daniel Larusso out of this, he's had it hard enough out there in Receda.

You guys either have too much dope, or too much time on your hands. First of all, TLB was not a 'Hollywood Movie' but an Independent. For the time is was wonderful anti-establishment film-making. For the putz brigade that has had special effects breakfast cereal all their life, served up with computer graphics, I suppose it appears tame by comparison to the Saturday morning cartoons most who have posted their comments grew up consuming. A jag imagining a film with another cast is like whacking off to a porn mag. You just don't get the same kind of satisfaction those who do the 'real thing' experience. As far as picking apart movies you think you're better than, let's see your stuff. What? Nothing but a few hand held videos of cars ever posted on this site? I see. You need to grow up and respect old movies like you do old cars. Making them better is a fantasy, induced by lazy thinking. You see, those who can, do. Those wish they could, talk the talk. Lot's of luck with the pipe dreams. Respect your elders is an old rule that works well when it comes to those who plowed the way, even the movies that got made. Hollywood, so-called, is flooded with unmade scripts. Your time would be better served working on your rides. And, if you don't like the current crop of movies, make your own. It only takes a script, a camera, film, and a cast, plus a budget. Times a wastin'.

  13. I wanna help screw it up is there a part for a crippled, grumpy machinist?
I could really use the cash.

Hell I'll even comb my hair and brush my teeth at least once while we are shooting.

Wait. So what you're saying is that it's okay for us to remake what Detroit did, but not what Hollywood an indy filmmaker did? Interesting. Shouldn't you be on a restoration forum somewhere? ;)
