Here is a Vette clock that I got from Tazhog, he bought it at the swapmeet in Springfield OH at the KKOA event in about 82.

This Champion I got at the Syracuse NSRA event in 95 or 96 at an abandoned gas station. I saw the station and found out from the convience store across the street who owned it, called the lady on the phone and got this plus a whole bunch of other stuff including an elco air station for 125.00

Not a shop clock so I hope it's welcome ?

I've been into old clocks for years, and like them all...car clocks...advertising...etc.

This is an E. Howard Banjo #5 from around 1875.

The dial is painted on iron and signed in ink. It's powered by a cast iron weight and runs 8 days. It's original except for the lower gl***.

picked this up on ebay. I was going to put it in my car since it's really clean, but decided to leave it in its little house instead. there is a note on the bottom that it was made in 1978 and was in his dads car... looks like a Jr high woodshop project.

clock is a 1949 Chevrolet 24 hour wind up.

Heres some of mine. The first clock is HUGE, I rescued i from the salvage yard last summer. Had some sort of neon on top. The Hires clock was a 3.00 yard sale find this past fall. The last two are a couple from inside the house, I have a ton of clocks.

  11. I made a few of these Packard hubcap clocks as gifts for friends a couple decades ago when they weren't so rare.
This one I keep running in my shop.

Chris, That huge one is an Electric Neon Clock Co. Made in Cleveland, Oh. with the optional Ad Banner on top. More commonly referred to as simply a "Cleveland". Just in case you didn't know (and I'm sure you do) but they are quite popular - to teh point that "they" repop EVERYTHING for that clock - hands, neon, the plastic bubble, EVERYTHING. So if inclined you could get her running again.

Here's a shot of my oldest "Cleveland" 1938.

  15. Speaking of clocks, my '56's clock doesn't work. Is there a way to fix them or is there a way to make a new clock out of an old one?

In general it's the same kind of rules to live by with the Older clocks I collect... Extra holes are bad...the more original the better...etc.
Restoration is subjective depending on the collector.
Patina is a good thing to certain degree.

My grandfather ran a tuxedo business in the Harlem (Chicago) but the mafia shut him down. He wouldn't give free tuxes to 'the boys'- badda bing-badda boom....
Had it repainted in his honor in 84- in my studio, now in my garage keeps on tickin'

When I put new tires on my coupe ,I found a use for the old ones and the Moon discs I wasn't using. I made 4 of these by buying cheap clocks and taking them apart for the works inside.
I gave three to friends of mine and kept this one.
