There is a lot of attention to detail posted in this thread, some of you guys work could rival the pro builders.

My work doesn't compare to what I see here, all I can claim is it's clean. :D HRP

  6. Man alive,,,!
There are some real craftsman on here !
And like the man said,,,some even rival the pros in my book .

It just goes to show,,,,that if you really try,,,nothing is impossible.

Now that being said,,,,I can’t do it,,,and I’m sure most fall into my category.
But,,,,,at least we are trying .
There is nothing wrong with trying to put your best foot forward.

And all of this presents a great example to the young guys in our hobby.
All young men want to have a nice ride,,,,shiny and polished.
    And that runs good !
I hope the new guys see some of this talent displayed !

And to think,,,I almost missed all of this myself,,,real Craftsmanship!

Love the workmanship on this site. This pic reminded me of a joke I heard once.
Late show, Johnny Carson was telling the audience about the previous evening, laying in bed naked and admiring himself in the mirror over the bed until he realized he didn't have a mirror over the bed and there was a naked man lying on his skylight.

^^^^I believe the correct expression is Holy Shit, nice frame! Black with shiny accents and a fuel injected hemi. Perfect.

IMAG0927.jpg One thing I don't see done that often,is what I did do,is plan for working on rod after a few years or so when stuff gets busted. The crossmember I designed to start with,is so the center plates/ now alum, can be removed to drop oil pan if needed with out motor mounts being moved at all. Was steel the first time I did it way back, but I came up with some 1/4in. alum big enough on this rebuild restore, an though it would look cool this way shiny< can't see it ,if not looking kind of under motor. But nice to have them fine this detail along with other stuff I added through highschool, like my idea for kingpin top plugs were at the time I first did them, brand new shiny JFK 50 cent.
On this redo though,I also boxed frame{it was not boxed in 1959 when I built it,but inside rust did thin it out in a few spots over the big gap in time. So boxing now seemed best way.

Couple of pictures of my past and current projects; I just try to put them together neatly with a nice finish (even tho they may get buried and suffer at times).

That's it, I quit. I'm gonna sell my tools, give my car away and go live in a van down by the river. No way I can ever get to be good enough to be a rag wiper on any of these chassis. On a scale of sharpness, these are a diamond edged razor to my dull stone aged rock ax that a hack like me uses. My liberal use of satin and flat black Rustoleum spray bombs and my black tipped finger are not even in the same county, much less same ballpark as what quality I'm seeing here. Y'all blow me away!

That's why my car is low, I don't want nobody looking at my undies......:D:D:D

Take is easy Man! We don't want you to jump off the bridge or nothing. It's OK. There are a lot of good looking cars on here. After a hundred thousand miles, I don't want anybody looking under my car either. :D:rolleyes::cool: We're cool!

Bama, some iconic cars have horrendous chassis work... but they're still icons.

I saw a car, in person, that was a feature car in an old hot rod mag and after over-restoring and repairing the chassis... the soul seemed gone for me.

The car was "perfect" but nowhere near as raw as it once was.
