hey Flat, Looking cool man, you dont give you ride enough credit! Here is mine, bought by Dan, BUILT by FlatOz.
I see you and Flat OZ have similiar aircleaners/carb toppers. Can you tell me about them? Maker, etc? I have one but no idea on anything about it history wise.
here you go. all I can tell you about these is that I cast them up. but due to other projects I cant be*****d spending the time doing it anymore. I am going to do a run with my name on the top, and that will be it. it takes me 3-5 hours to fettle the castings, and hand sand them to this stage. The "swift" ones I do will be a limited run 5 maybe 10 and will be my legacy/input into hot rodding history as such. as for the original thickstun, from memory the rodders journal did an article on thickstun not sure of the issue tho...
Say , has anyone tried using a foam filter element from the dirt bike/off-road industry? Throw a screen on the carb then cut the foam down to fit in your stack? I know they're cheap and readily available and are the best for harsh environments....should be fine for the street. Just thinking out loud here. Josh
That's what I do for my breather...on long hauls (Clamp on ugly). I put a cool one on for zippin round town (Cool press on smoothie that pops off when you get on it).
Fuckin' right! I can dig that. I guess if that's the only way to make a Chevy run right, you gotta do it.
Here's the latest... This is when the motor was almost done, but you get the idea. I need to take some more recent photos... Also I made my own air cleaner using a K&N for a filter element.
