Goldenrod, drag car from the 50's in Omaha area, 1st pic is a then/now, dont care for the flat blk, it runs a Olds 303 with 6 carbs now

Going for the gold!

 

Gold is a risky color. Get it right and it doesn't get much better! Get it wrong, and yecchhhh, it doesn't get much worse. The right shade is critical, can't be too light, or too dark; and satin doesn't work at all, it needs to be shiny, gloss; the wetter the better. And then you have to top it off with the right accents, it really needs some chrome highlights and some white color, and definitely wide whites. That pickup that HRP posted on the first page, that's how you do it right there. If you're gonna go gold, study that pickup and follow that recipe.
