My girlfriend is about to get an impala, we're not quite sure what year yet but we both really like the late fifties/early sixties ones. So let me see some pictures of your guys's impalas; kustoms, sleds, drag strippers, anything, lets see'em all.
here's my 65. i think the car's stance, mood, and wheel choice really match the door lock pulls that i made for it...
Here's the '64 SS my bro and I built a few years ago... Yeah, Yeah, I know, I know, it's got aluminum wheels on it...but, if you like Impalas... it's got a lot of old school body mods... Study it...There's a lot of subtle stuff going on there you might miss...then ask questions... R-
I think that '58 was the best year for impalas, they cant be topped when their nice and low. But 64 impalas will always have a high resale value, especially if you go with an early lowrider or bellflower style.
This post has been done before. Ask for Impalas, and what do you get? Bisquanes and Bel Aires. Roger, I still think your Bro's 64 is a nicely done car, even with the alum. wheels. I'll add a shot of my old ride.
Psycho D.-That's not a REAL impala. It doesn't have 3 lights on it's ass! Jeepers Creepers is an Impala through and through-all it's trim is on a shelf in my garage (for sale, too when I get a camera that works)
Here are some pix of my old Impala after I sold it, taken from www.socalcarculture.com. My only opinion, shut the damn hood/trunk!
here's one that we're lookin at on ebay, kinda rough around the edges but looks like a good staring point. The only problem right now, besides that fact that it's in Chicago and i'm in Nor-Cal (ROADTRIP!!), is that the auto trans won't shift out of 1st. Im not a chev guy so i don't know much about this problem, is it something i could fix when i pick it up, or is it an expensive, specialty shop kinda thing. Thanks guys http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4551753743&category=6169
Its hard to diagnose the problem over the internet, with trans it could be anything. My 60 has a 2 speed "slip and slide", I mean powerglide. Try driving down the road in 2nd having the trans shift into N, 1st and back to 2nd with slowing down or braking. Its really hard to say about that problem. My opinion, look for something else closer. After shipping costs, California licensing/sales tax, you might not have the $$$ for a trans. My Impala came back to CA from North Dakota and I had to pay close to $450 for the licensing alone.
i did my second impala's interior in all white also. i didn't have the huggy bear dashboard that you have, but i was rockin' white carpet! it takes balls to rock a large, all white interior, you know what i'm talkin' about Kustom55. i was forever cleanin' that thing... tred.
Here's what I traded to get... The body is perfect and it got a frame-off resto... some day I hope to get it together and drive it...
