Love the car. I'm in the starting phases of a 440 swap into my 50 wayfarer. I saw another one of your posts and you used a fat man mustang II subframe correct? Do you mind sharing what the cost was to do that? I'm just trying to get an idea of where I'll be at. I can do a good amount of custom fab so I'm looking for a cheaper route. Any info is great. Thanks

We built the Dodge in 2001-2003 and the fat man stub was about $2000 then; I can only imagine it's more now. Supposedly you can't just put a mustang II crossmember in because of the shape of the frame rails. If I were trying to do it now on the cheap, I would buy a welder series crossmember and fab up my own frame stub. I used their crossmember in my '53 Chevy wagon and it worked out well. If I were to do it over again, I'd probably use a 360 crate motor. Fitting the 440 in required a lot of work and it is tough to keep it cool. It does haul ass though.
