Hot Rods Lets see some plexiglass hood scoops

Starting to seriously consider a plexigl*** hood scoop (lexan), lets see some vintage ones!

 

This made me think of the model car the BadMan 55 Chevy, yellow with the red windows and hood scoop that I had as a kid…

 

Yes I put one together too around 1979!

 

I bought a bunch of stuff from the estate of a Corvette restorer. The crown jewel to me was the red plexigl*** scoop on that C1 hood. Pulled the scoop and sold the hood..

 

I’d use one on my 64, is there any indication of the manufacturer on your scoop?

 

No...no names on it anywhere..

 

There was someone making several different styles of plexigl***/acrylic scoops in a verify of colors last summer, but I didn't save the contact info.

 

My 54 Vette has this one, same as above. Put on in the mid 60's they were advertised in the magazines for 39.50. That's about $355 in today's money. No wonder they're rare.
