Heres a crummy photo of my '60. I have had this for 4 months so far. I'm thinking of using reversed eye mono leafs on the front and blocks on the back to take it down about 4 inches.

The red truck belongs to the owner of Mesa Muffler here in Costa Mesa CA. It is not his shop truck but he does drive it in to the shop every once in a while. Probably one of the cleanest slicks that I have set eyes on.

It is actually air bagged. Step-notch, 4-link, dropped beams and the frame is notched up front for the beams. It's pretty basic.

I'll get some better pictures (ones that aren't from my blurry ass iPhone) and post them soon.

Here's our '66. It has different wheels on it now. It also has a Cleveland/FMX in it from a '71 Mustang.

    dhughins,

    That's ALREADY a sweet ride!
...and its got the six!...( )
Looks like just a little cleanup work and (maybe) bigger meats and you'll be set.
Is that a 300 under the hood?
I was just playing around with some mild engine combos figures on the calculator this morning and figured 180HP out wouldn't be too hard to achieve with a 300 and you'd still have a fairly mild mannered truck (until you put your foot into it ;)).
4.11's w/AOD would set it all off, nicely.

    Nice ride. Thanks for sharing.

    1957Custom,

Is that a 9 foot bed?
    My ex brother-n-law had a '67 with a 9 foot bed.
My dad had an old Smittybuilt canopy that was made for one.

Yes, they did for years. At least back to sometime in the 60's (AFAIK).
Just did a search, trying to find you a pic and it appears the 9 foot bed is still an option today.

it's a 223 6 cylinder not a 300. it had some old wheels on it when i got it. can you have these sandblasted and painted?

Hard to tell in the picture you provided, but are the old wheels chromed?
I suppose if the chrome were flaking off you might be able to blast it, otherwise, I'm not sure.
If those wheels are just painted, then yes, of course you can blast and repaint them.
But what's the reasoning for doing this?
You've already got a set of mags that really set the truck off nicely.
    ......
Anyway, thanks for answering my question about the engine. Much appreciated.
223's a good mill. Ford made a LOT of 'em.
300 is from the same family, just a newer and larger (displacement-wise) version.
If you ever wanted to move up to a larger mill, the 300 should be a drop-in fit.

yeah they are chrome and its flaking off. i was trying to sell them and thought i might just sandblast them and paint them to keep incase i ever wanted a different look. i really like the wheels that are on it now much better.
