Lets see some some Slick 60s F100s!

Here is my project. First I had to take it from my dad. He still thinks its his. I figure it if sits for 10 years its fair game. I filed the points and fired it up. drove it home with no brakes. Cleaned it up painted the wheels and took it to billetproof. Had a blast now working on slamming it and driving the hell out of it.

neat truck... dont see many gasser 223 pickups.

 

My '60 used to site like that...not as high in back, but similar in front...

I just scored a set of OE style steel wheels at a local tatto shop of all places...a pair of 15x10 and a pair of 15x7...

New rolling stock on the way so I can finally ditch the 15x5's

 

can any one tell me how many leafs are in the rear spring packs in a 61 unibody someone has removed some to lower it and i plan to put the leaves back to org and flip the axel thanks

Regardless of who makes it, most 1/2 ton trucks will have a rear spring pack consisiting of between 5 and 7 leaves, depending on just how light, or heavy, of a "1/2 ton" the truck is actually built to.

One thing I wouldn't do is Mono Springs. Have 3 friends of mine that have them 2 have Fords, one has a Chevy, and wish they would of left them stock, handle like crap and just all around bad.

LMC truck is a great place to find parts, that is except floor pans for a 66 LMC doesn't have them, anyone know a good place for 66 floor pans?

this is with a s10 clip widened 6", dropped spindles and one coil cut. without the use of wheel adaptors

 

Not your typical hambstyle build, but here is my 65 F100 short bed stepside. It's done up like an early '70's desert truck, and I wouldn't have it any other way! Although I do have a set of 15x4 and 15x8 steelies I am considering mounting up with street tires to give it a drag look, to see what it looks like. It's got a really stout 428, C6 with high stall converter, 3.89 geared 9-inch with locker, complete front suspension swap off a '78 to get discs and power steering. Fun stuff!

Also tossed in a picture of the truck Robby Gordon dominated desrt racing with in the late '80's. Was a little bit of inspiration for me.

Good lookin trucks. Ive always leaned towards the 60's look with these. Econoline bezels, slammed in the weeds with some fat ass piecrusts tucked underneath the bed

 

are those chevy rear fenders? doesnt look like the stock fenders for sure.

 

You're right, they are off a '65 GMC. I never liked the look of the original fenders, which were originally designed for the '53 to '56 trucks and carried over by Ford until '79 on stepsides. The ultra roundy style just didn't jive with the more sculpted '61 to '66 front end, in my opinion. The '55 to '66 Chevy/GMC fenders have similiar styling cues, with the swept back styling and belt line relief, so when I finally found a decent pair for a decent price, I swapped them on. I think they fit the truck much better.

I would love to find a crew cab like that, by the way. Used to be a bitchin '66 around here with a service bed. Last time I saw it was in a wrecking yard after it got T-boned. Hurt me to look at it.
