Hey dude, dont worry bout it... nothing wrong with a good rat rod or Low buck build. I personally would rather own a sweet old low buck ride than a 200 ,000 dollar G ride. Id be to nervous to drive it.

    It's "The Beer Truck"!...know why?
Because its got room to get the wait staff to the kegger.

    :D

...and mixing and matching different years is fine, just as anything else is. It just depends on how tastefully its done.
    One mans opinion.

Well, if your aim is to have a truck with a 400HP engine, then I say what cha' already got is doing just fine.
...but really, I think this question needs to be a thread of its own.

from way back when i didn't have a digital camera; i had a '65 longbed with 352 4v and power steering, black on black with 16" wheels and a towtruck pushbar; a yellow '59 styleside shortbed that i never managed to get an engine for; and a '64 shortbed stepside with a 351w and a custom crossmember. they's all gone now... victims of low income and high outgo.

Shoot man I like it at the height its at. I get alot of mixed feedback about the lowering beams... apparently you sacrifice some ride quality and more bump steer. Just what I hear. and some guys dont seem to mind.

I agree. It looks great, as is.
The blacked out wheels are a nice touch.
...and that store front looks vaugely familiar. I think my dad bought some snow tires from that place back in the mid 70's, but it wasn't a Goodyear back then (if its the same place).

just for fun heres a nother one with the front end actually mounted. ignore any gaps, seeing as the door is just sitting there not mounted to anything.

ill trade you body work for chassis work!

I'll definately keep you posted when I do it, I'll post some pics. There some good threads on the fordtrucks forum about the DJM dropped beams, they just look too good low not to lower it.
