This is the style that I going for with my Caddy. Hopefully by summer I will have her dropped, astros, and bellflowers. Next year paint and maybe the interior. should make a huge improvement in the looks department.

Nah... it'd be alot of work to install, and not worth it for what I wanted. I already had to raise half the driveshaft tunnel and the floor over the rearend...

Torsion bars up front = no spring cup to mount the top of a bag... and leaf spring rear + unibody construction = approximately a grip of bracketry!

Plus, I like the simplicity (dare I say TRADITION?) of a "static drop." And the look on people's faces when it SCRAPES is always fun! :D

I am still getting use to the static drop on the Caddy. I normally do bags but the funds are tight. I am waiting for my 4th Astro now. Pete Paulsen only shipped 3 and lost the 4th so I have to wait another week or so. I do have air shocks in the back and I am doing an onboard air system for them this weekend. Gotta love that it still rides like a Caddy.

How are you doing the onboard air for the air shocks? I've been thinking about it, but how do you go from the tiny air line on the air shocks to a decent size line for onboard contol? Thanks

Man I gotta agree with everyone else Tinman its between you and the desoto although the electras are pretty slick to! I love the comfort of these cars and how so many guys are taking big assed old odd balls and driven the crap out of em. heres another pic of mine! the blue 66 is a buddy of mine Dereks its a static drop and he drives it every were. I gotta say static drop is cool but not for fat guys! If I had a static drop it would have to sit 4-5 inches higher driver side when I got out of it and that just wouldn't be right !

I am changing the lines to 1/4" lines and will use this guage. I will get the fittings from a Big Rig shop for the air lines.

This will allow you to run a compressor with no tank. Not the fastest but better than airing it up from the back.

  9. Tinman, I guess the four doors have more clearance on the tunnel. I haven't had to raise mine......YET. I am planning on swapping the leaves for a 2 link. I already pulled some leaves out and it just isn't low enough yet. I currently have hydros on the rear (bags are for groceries..just kidding) and it is low, but never enough. I am planning on trying to add hydros to the front, like your idea of how to do them by the way!:D

I know this thread is old and crusty but I'm doing a 60's Bellflower style build on a 65' Merc right now and love seeing this style. Anyone have any pix to add?
