    Just because HRP is asking for pics of 2 door wagons , this does not mean it is ok to post pics of cars with billet wheels and other off topic large diameter wheels. I went through and edited several pics out. Lets keep it on topic ok fellas?

  5. We hear, WOW, I din't know Ford made a 2 door wagon.

    I usually point out that Ford built their first 2 door wagon in 1949. HRP

    My 54 Hot Rod Studebaker Conestoga. Winters Quick Change rear axle, hanging off of Chevy Truck arms. Have an "expensive", 299" Stude engine and a T-200-4R with..trans. brake waiting to go into it. Four wheel disc brakes.

    Here is my soon (?) to be daily driver, 54 Stude Conestoga. Has a 259 Stude engine with ported heads, modified Chrysler intake manifold, T-200-4R trans., shortened Dana 44 rear axle. Four wheel disc brakes

    Third on my to do list. a 60 Studebaker Lark. C4 Corvette front suspension, 9" Ford, with Strange aluminum center section on a Morrison, 4 link and wishbone rear half frame. Roll cage. Coil-over's at all four corners. A 383 small Chevy, aluminum heads. Has a T-200-4R with a trans. brake.

    My current project, although the paint has now been stripped in preparation for body work. A 57 283, fender well headers, 270 horse carbs and intake, a 4 Resized_20181201_121754_1299001[5201].jpeg speed with 4.88s

    Looking good too . I actually started out to get mine running to sell it and the more I worked on it the more I liked it so decided to keep it .you don't see many of them .those pictures were at the good guy's event this November in Scottsdale and there was probably 50-60 nomads but only 1 Parklane there were over 3000 cars there. we drove out and back 948 miles and averaged 23.5 mpg .the AOD made a huge difference

    I love a Parklane. At least a couple of things Ford did better than GM did on Nomads and Safaris: The drip rail on Nomads and Safaris is BELOW the top of the lift-gate, so water runs inside before it ever reaches the drip rail, whereas Ford put drip rail above the liftgate, where it belongs. Secondly, the liftgate on Nomads closes before the tailgate, allowing water, again, to run inside, whereas Ford had the liftgate close OVER the tailgate.

    Also on the sliding quarter windows on the Ford, the front glass is outside the rear fixed glass, Chevy had the slider to the inside so had a much larger chance of leakage. Fords setup looked cleaner too

  21. Add to the fact that the Parklane was a one year only style and a total of 15,186 Parklanes were built verses the 48,348 Ranch Wagon's built that same year, there just are not that many survivors left. HRP

    And there are a lot of Parklane only parts they had too I was very lucky in that all the parkland specific parts were still on or in the car when I got it

  23. Love allot of the 2-door wagons. The Nomads had great styling ('57 is my favorite). Some of the off breed hard top 2-doors where really cool: Mercs, Pontiacs, Buicks, Etc..

    One other thing is Ford kept the tailgate hinges inside for a cleaner look where as the GM wagons had them mounted outside.

    Yep the ford is extremely quiet as far as wind noise too when I went to Scottsdale I didn't have door weatherstrips just wind lacing and it was very quiet .the frameless hardtop style glass of the nomads would have to leak more air
