Here is a couple from a St.Louis Vintage Drag Race. This wagon has run for ever and has had the same paint job. They just don`t get any better than this.

Not fancy but it did hold the track record three times.

Built and raced for a whole year for less than a thousand dollars. Picture was taken at Lyons in 1971 the day it set the record the first time. Powered by a 259 CID Studebaker V8 with an automatic no less. Even beat a lot of stick cars in it's day. Got the biggest laugh out of watching people come over and look in the engine compartment. Most people didn't know what the engine was, but they knew it wasn't a big 3 engine.

Here is an old picture of one of my 1957 two door Chevy wagons from the mid 60's. This one was running a stock 283 4 barrel power pack with a 3 spd and a posi rear end with cheater slicks. It took home the trophy on the first time out in J stock. Sure wish I had this one back!!

Wow! I remember that car. Who was the owner/driver? I can't remember.

Here are a few for you. One still comes west from Louisiana in the fall driven by a farmer who sleeps in the car at Zuma Beach north of Malibu. His is one that is a Super Charged Y block 312 and many have seen his tail lights near the finish line. He has a sign on the back of it that says "Chev Gobbler" and it shows a turkey with a Blue Oval.
