Let's see them steering wheels, gauges & dashboards

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Mike Zenor, Apr 26, 2005.

  1. Banjos & two spokes, sprint wheels & metalflake tri-bars, SW clusters & wild dashes -- lets see what you look at when you look down from the road.

  2. I'm not sure about this dash, inside a killer vintage Chicago Duece Coupe -- maybe a Nash?

ive got a narrowed 47/48 dash in a 35 5 window with original working gauges, just have to finish making a centre piece... in the middle of finishing the steering wheel from the same car to go with the dash. would like a 48 mercury horn ****on to fit the wheel but they seem pretty hard to find.

I'm new here, I've been reading on this site a while and figured I may as well sign up. this looked like a good thread to start with. Here's a picture (if it works) of the dash/wheel I look at every day, complete with cracked windshield and 'Blues Brothers' style dash full of garbage. It's in my clapped out daily '66 Suburban. The second pic is a '56 Olds dash I have laying around that I hope to use in something eventually, not sure what, though.

Last car made in America with Big *** Fins - 61 Comet.
I really like the guage surround it's strictly Flash Gordon. The wheel does kinda' sit right when it's going straight and the Zebra stripe seatcovers make it cl***y too. I still have open headers on this one so state inspection is "postponed". I took it out last week to scare the new neighbors and p***ed a town cop and waved - he waved back.

Not a good shot, but it's what I see going down the road. Can't wait to get this T-5 conversion done so I can see this again.

*****6 - that could work. Would be a task though. I thought maybe in the '42 Ford project I'm working on, because the A is sooo narrow, thought it might look silly. I'll think about that though, would like to use it in something.

I flattened the Model "A" dash and made a brushed aluminum guage panel with 50s (not wings) style SW guages.

Great thread! Love all the dash ideas. I'm going to weld this dash in my 'A' this week. Have no idea what it is though.
