Thank you, themoose. I have a 350 Chevy, TH350, 3:73 posi, A/C, PS, PB. The cruise control doesn't work. It is a good driver with the creature comforts. Again, thanks.

Cheers... I was still a teenager when I started that roadster, I would do a bunch of things different but sort of keep the same image...:)

    Hello,
I grew up seeing a black 1937 Chevy 4 door sedan sitting in front of our house or in the driveway many times as a young teenager. It belonged to a friend of my older brother. As a teenage car, it had the style and look of a classic, but still could be considered a hot rod. Plans of building it with a more powerful motor, new tires and custom rims was always in the picture, but the bank does not always agree with the dreams.

At the time, it was what the teenage pocketbook allowed as to what was available to buy and drive to work and high school. Me? I was the standard young teen that was the “gofer” and wanted to put in my $.02 cents worth of knowledge without sitting around with the older teens. I was paying my dues for future prospects, like being taken to places I wanted to go, since I did not have a license.

When I found the artwork last Saturday for the art thread, it was drawn by Gilbert “Magu” Lujan, I instantly thought of those old times in Long Beach when that black 37 Chevy 4 door sedan was sitting in the driveway. The teenagers from the Chevy sedan doing what most teenagers do, come inside and our mom plastered them with tons of her meals. The teenagers did not care if it was the leftovers from dinner, it was quality food and they just ate to their hearts content. All the while, I was outside, cleaning their cars, changing the hubcaps or wiping down the tires, etc.

Then, the brain switched to an old photo shoot of a 39 Chevy sedan that I took many years ago, on a cold/freezing morning.

Then late Saturday, we saw a cool looking 1937 Chevy 4 door two toned sedan cruising down the street. The driver and passenger were having a great time as they were laughing at something being said and enjoying the ride. It is nice to be in So Cal when the weather gets sunny and bright. It had been 80s-90s for the past several days, but the fog just came rolling into the coastal range again for the second week in a row. Water always wins…
