Here's mine. I've lost motivation lately, this thread is a good kick in the butt for me to get back on it.

    love that car Mike

  4. Sorry but I have to call you a TOOL!
You made me hate myself for selling my 28 RPU, wanna swap for all the parts to build a 401 powered A40 Gasser?

  5. Doc, I have had a love hate relationship with my RPU since I started building it.
At the moment it's hate because the diff had to be rebuilt 11 days after getting it regoed, just got it back and it's still sitting in the back of my van.
    $3000 bill didn't help either.

Well I started out with this in June 2000. Fenders and running boards off, but in excellent shape. Almost NO rust in car, but body work on chop and fill was pretty shabby.

August 2008 I finally drove it! May not be traditional enough for some, but I built what I could with what I had and I'm really happy with the results. Lot's more work to do but it's licensed, legal and on the road!

Fenders and running boards are all painted. Someday I'll get tired of cleaning the crap off the sides and put them on!

And yes, the headrests on the seats are going away! ;)

  22. hey utah i likeyou car what color did you do the fenders? black? and is that a forest service color? ;)

Fenders are the same color, it's an Ancient Chinese Secret custom mix that schemed up with my buddy who mixed it. I still can't believe how much yellow went into the mix... about 85% of the pigment! I thought the car was going to look like a sunflower until he got done mixing it.

And no, the forest service color is quite different.

    Although very similar...

Thanks for bringing THAT up! LMAO

As I filed thru all the great A models in this thread, my thoughts went back to a time when the styles were much different, and low down coupes were scarce as hens teeth. In 1975, I went to the Nats South and snapped a picture of a Model A Coupe that lit a flame in my head that began the creation of my coupe. I have never met the owner, but I think it is based in Lexington, Ky. And its still one of my favorites.
