327" Chevy, Muncie 4-speed, Ford rear end...
I bought it for $700 and worked my ass of to make it this...
    I was 16 when I bought it.
Had it through high school and beyond...
That Anglia in the background I bought as a stocker for $15....I found it when I was on my paper route and the old lady told me "it was my late husband's car...he loved it, so I couldn't take less than $15 for it..."
    OK!

My avatar is my first, and is a work in progress.
The 50 chevy in my post is from 1965 and was a gasser named " The Hounddog" that ran in the early 60's in south Texas. It was retired, and my older brother and a friend of his drove it on to school. I never forgot that car, as rough as it was, it was a real head-turner. I remember sitting in the engine bay adjusting the distributer while we were being pushed down our street trying to get it started for the first time - scarey as heck. It had a set of chrome headers (not shown)that came straight off the heads and into a collector box that ended in the fender well above the front wheels and flush with the fender. I have not seen any like them since, but they were very cool, and L-O-U-D!

my first finished ride in 69, a 57 Chevy, then a 36 International in 71. At the same time I was fortunate enough to work part time at a local speedshop and got to play with a A/Fuel dragster..............what a time it was!

Car is red now. For any Aussie's that knew any of the Confederates, thats Dennis Kilners 34 before the radical chop next to the 38.

Very first was my cool hand me down pedal car that my brothers had used. Wish I still had this one. A few 60's Impalas, Camaros, Nova and Chevelles eventually became my first real drivers.

My first pre-48 driver that I can take credit for the build was a 37 Chevy Coupe. Nice solid body that I converted into a rumble seat Coupe. Powered by a 61 Covette small block, powerglide tranny and 57 Chevy rearend. Original front axle with 54 Chevy front spindles and drums. Had lots of trim pieces, door hinges, brackets and bumpers chrome plated for a whopping $300 back then.
This one got me hooked on 37 Chevy's and was the first of several 37 Chevy cars and trucks our family enjoyed over the years. Last I knew this car was a gray color and was in or near Corfu, New York but I have not been able to track it down. Still have the concept model I made when I was building this car.

Don't have pictures, because a camera cost as much as 4 chrome reverse wheels ($40) back then. Duh

Still driving my first real hotrod...saved from a crusher in 07 and built in 09 and still love her .. My first taste was a 77 merc my parents bought new that I turned into a 11 sec drag car. :D

Feels good turning childhood dreams into reality and have owned most of the cars on my bucket list now.

My first in 1963. Bought it out of a junkyard for $35.00 with no motor. Built a motor and a 3 speed trans, slipped in a battery. Drove it for 4 years and sold it.

Same summer, 1963, I bought the 34 Chev and I don't have any finished pictures of it

At 15, I couldn't drive it in 1954. A powered but shortly later installed a V8 flathead. Final version had the top removed and an Olds engine seen here at Parks Air College Drags in 1956.
