Mines nothin' special, just a typical SoCal 3 car attached. 27 x 20 or so. But it serves well.

    This is the "work area":

But this is what I'm moving into when we get to Tenneesee. It's over 800 sq ft, "L" shaped, 41 feet on the long side. I can't wait.

I thought this was SO HUGE when I bought my house...it actually is, for this area...but you can never have enough room! I had to build the little shed to the right to house the "non-garage" stuff...lawnmower, snowblower, garden tools, fertilizer, etc...

since we are on the subject of garages.....

this is offtopic, so if you have an answer, please PM me so we dont clutter this thread up....

anyone know roughly how much mortar would be needed for a 36x36x12 building built with 8x8x16 cinderblocks? we wont worry about doors and things like that, just a rough estimate....

i figure maybe theres an old brickmason or 2 around here......

Thats funny, I've had a few people say my house looks like a movie set...first time i've heard it about the shop. I've got a few other small storage buildings that let me keep the shop clean of parts, plus I think I have a little mental disorder.

  23. Still under construction... this pic is from a couple weeks back. First time I could lock it up (still don't have anything in it). 850 sq feet; am up against building setbacks and couldn't go much bigger. But, have room for carport in back.

This is what I started with; a little grey rambler with 22 yards of crushed rock on the East end of the building:

Soon, Lulubelle (the truck) will have a home indoors. The Chrysler needs a home elsewhere. The Kraut oil spill can continue to devalue my driveway.

dont use mortar. Surface Bonding Cement and drystack is what you use. Its stronger and waterproof

Here's mine, your typical SoCal two car condo garage. It's changed a little since the photos, more storage shelfs by the Falcon.
