Just getting ready to put up my ole Studio garage door, titled ; '6 & 8', based on a the ' board's of TACOMA Washington's Montamara Speed track of 1912. I had the 6 & 8 in honor of our daughters, who at that age we're ready to pass us by ! They are now 17 & 19....
The painting was centered , so when I'd pull in my cat , those two imposing numbers, '6 & 8' were filling up my rear view mirror.
The first Tacoma Montamara or Monta Marathon , as it was sometimes called was riun on a 3.5 mile road course. In 1914 the switch was made to a two mile dirt track and from 1915 until 1922 the race was held on the two mile PLANKED BOARD Speedway. IBID: American Automobile Racing , pg 69, By Albert Borchroch.

This is the inside off a old Church Building I bought. First thing I did was cut a hole in the back for a garage door and built a ramp and loading dock to the garage door. What do you do with a old church building? Now every time we have a party somebody has to stand at the front door holding a hubcap asking for donations to the Hot Rod Ministries.

When I started my website, Out in the Garage with BillyBob, I was wrenchin' under the shadetree at my boss's office. I was still under the shadetree when I posted earlier to this thread.

Economics (loss of thirty percent of my pay) has convinced me that I don't need a two bedroom apartment and that I would be better off workin' on my rides at nite instead of layin' in front of the boob tube.

With that in mind, I've let the apartment go and am sitting up shop in a warehouse. It's a little spartan right now but I'm slowly makin' it comfy. I've got the necessities - a little fridge full of PBR's and music. The rest is gravy.

Hey, I know YOU! and your Dad. I gotta say your Mom and Dad's place would be at the top of my list for cool shop lounges. Your photos don't do the place justice. Please tell them Denise from Detroit with the purple '47 Oldsmobile convertible said hello.
